Generation Minus “the age of less”
Willkommen in der Rezession. Die Kaufkraft beginnt zu sinken. Es wird prophezeit, dass es sich diesmal nicht nur um eine kurze Durststrecke handelt. Die Krise soll eine Wende einläuten. Es nahe das “Minus-Zeitalter” oder anderst ausgedrückt “the age of less”. Wir werden dazu gezwungen sein, weniger zu konsumieren, die Welt zu schonen - und dabei glücklicher zu werden.
Der Index für die Kaufstimmung ist im Oktober in der Schweiz auf den tiefsten Stand seit fünf Jahren gesunken. Man rechnet ebenfalls mit einem schrumpfen der schweizer Wirtschaft um 2 Prozent. In den USA ist die Konsumentenstimmung auf dem tiefsten Stand seit 40 Jahren.
Die Hälfte unsrer Landsleute ist überzeugt, dass ihre Kaufkraft abgenommen hat. Die Menschen wollen weniger Geld für Lebensmittel, Kleider und Ausgang ausgeben. Experten sehen in dieser Entwicklung nicht nur eine Krise, sondern eine fundamentale Wende. Es könnte ein Zeitalter auf uns zukommen, in dem wir uns mit weniger begnügen müssen. “Die Zeit des endlosen Konsums mit endlosem Abfall ist vorbei” sagt, David Bosshart, Geschäftsführer des Gottlieb-Duttweiler Instituts. Die Rezession ist nur der Auslöser für den Konsumverzicht. Angebahnt habe sich diese Entwicklung schon lange. Seit den achtziger Jahren zerfällt das Wohlstandsvertrauen. Zuvor verliess man sich immer darauf, dass es einem laufend besser geht. Jede Generation übertraff die vorhergehende mit Wohlstand.
Die Entwicklung hat einen realen Hintergrund. Die jüngeren Generationen stehen schlechter da, als die älteren. Der höchste Anteil der Sozialhilfeempfänger liegt bei jungen Familien mit Kindern. Der Wohlstand liegt bei den über 65 jährigen. Den jüngeren Generationen gelingt es kaum Vermögen zu bilden. Die Entwicklung begünstigt den Umbruch zu einem neuen Verständnis von Wohlstand. Der Kaufrausch weicht einem nüchternen und bewussten Konsum. “Iss weniger, konsumiere weniger, vergeude weniger”: sagt David Bosshart.
Unser Konsum kann nicht endlos wachsen. Die Resourcen der Erde sind endlich. Die Ölvorkommen reichen noch für 40 Jahre. Die Mengen an geerntetem Getreide wachsen weniger schnell, als die Weltbevölkerung. Nahrung wird stetig teurer. Im letzten Jahr stiegen die Preise um 5 Prozent. Der Umgang mit Lebensmittel ist in der westlichen Welt masslos geworden. -Seit 2 Jahren übersteigt die Zahl der Übergewichtigen(über 1Milliarde) die Zahl der Unterernährten auf der Welt (920 Millionen)!- In den westlichen Industrieländern isst man nicht nur mehr, sondern wirft auch mehr essen weg. Bis zu einem Drittel der Nahrungsmittel!
Obst und Gemüse mit beschränkter Haltbarkeit sind in den USA in den letzten Jahren um 45 % teurer geworden. Haltbare Snacks um einen viertel billiger. Würden sich alle Menschen auf der Erde so ernähren wie die Amerikaner, dann bräuchten wir das 6fache der Ressourcen, die unsere Erde überhaupt her gibt. Bei uns Europäern wäre es immerhin das 3fache dessen.
Die mögliche Wende des “age of less” ist der bewusstere Konsum. Der Konsument ist nicht länger nur Verbraucher, sondern konsumiert wieder bewusster. Es wird nicht umbedingt weniger Geld ausgegeben, aber man will bessere und authentischere Produkte, dafür verzichtet man auf den übrigen Schrott. Gefördert wird diese Haltung auch dadurch, dass viele Konsumenten erkennen, dass sie mit billigen Produkten aus China ihren eigenen Wohlstand gefärden. In Schweden gibt es für diesen neuen reflektierten Konsumenten, Geflügel zu kaufen auf deren Packungen, Bild, Namen und Telefonnummer des Züchters abgedruckt sind. - für allfällige Rückmeldungen. - (vgl. I have the Mario virus on my computer. What is does is it will make the pop up blocker on your internet no longer work. It is a setup virus. I really don’t want to have to erase all the file in my computer and start over with a computer with nothing on it, but i don’t have time do download files to a flash drive. The response level to local and national disasters is awesome but it’s a real shame that so many citizens take advantage of the sad situations.
I mean everytime there is an earthquake, a flood, an oil spill - there’s always a group of heartless people who rip off tax payers.
This is in response to reading that 4 of Oprah Winfreys “angels” got busted ripping off the system. Shame on them!

There are websites which are a guilty pleasure, but there are websites which only have a visits duration of 40 seconds.
